Green Juice + Yoga

Despite our expulsion from meditation school, we decided to keep "mindfulness March" alive by heading to Ubud on Bali, where no one drinks, everyone is a vegan, and there's a yoga studio on every block.

We had a chance meeting with a Norwegian ex-pat while eating at Moksa (an awesome vegan restaurant) our first night in town, and he gave us a list of fantastic recommendations. We spent the next 5 days practicing yoga while admiring an expansive jungle view at Intuitive Flow; drinking cold-pressed green juice from Alchemy; eating salads at The Elephant; eaves-dropping on the new-age-y "workshops" on offer at the beautifully-designed, burning-man-esque Akasha (pictured); trying "aerial yoga" and getting our asses kicked by the large Russian teacher who didn't speak any English; admiring the expansive compound owned by the Ritz Carlton from their Library Bar and Sawah restaurant; experiencing a 10+ course, 3-hour, Michelin-star-worthy, vegetarian tasting menu at Locavore; and shopping for linen shirts and ankle bracelets in all the adorable boutiques.

We also couldn't resist renting scooters to ride around the rice paddies with. Seriously, there's no better way to see the countryside and sunsets over rice fields are just the best.

As luck would have it, Fletcher and his buddy Jack happened to be in Bali too, so they came up to Ubud for a day to visit with us and the monkeys that inhabit the sacred monkey forest.
